Click to view 04/12/12:  Instructions for internet access inside IITB Campus.
1. Participants will be provided with registration kit containing following information about Internet access in IITB at the registration desk.
• A coupon containing username (LDAP id) and password for internet access.
• COLING USB stick containing all required manuals.
2. Configure "IITB-Wireless" network on your system by following instructions from network configuration manuals present in USB stick.
3. Configure proxy settings of system/browsers using proxy configuration manual provided in the USB. Connect to internet through browser by using username and password provided along with registration kit.

18/10/12:    Participants desiring invitation letter for visa, should note that the invitation is subject to completing the registration. After registration the delegate will get the invitation letter in mail in a day. There is no need to write to the organizers separately for the visa invitation letter

COLING 2012 in India
The International Committee on Computational Linguistics (ICCL) has awarded COLING 2012 to India.

Delegates needing visa to enter India, are advised to attach with their applications, printouts of the relevant ministry clearances, provided on this website. Please also check if your country is in the list of countries, given in the clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, whose particulars must be sent beforehand by the organizers to the Home Ministry. In this case please send to the organizers your details in the form given on this website

INDIAN VISA GUIDELINES

Guidelines to obtain Indian Visa
All foreign nationals intending to participate in the Congress/ meeting, except those of Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives, are required to obtain an Indian VISA.

A Tourist Visa-on-Arrival shall be granted to a foreigner who is a national of Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand , Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Myanmar and Indonesia.

Others can apply visa in person or by post at the High Commission/Embassy based in the country from where the participant intends to depart for India.

VISA application form is available at the office of the Indian Embassy in the capital and other major cities of the country of your residence. All NRIs/PIOs, including children (who don't possess OCI or PIO card) need to apply for VISA in separate VISA forms. All the participants are advised to apply for either Tourist VISA or 'Conference VISA only. The required documents are as mentioned below:

Tourist Visa:
a. Passport valid for a minimum of 190 days with at least two blank pages.
b. Correct visa fee.
c. Two recent identical passport-size photographs.
d. Filled application form (all columns in the form are mandatory and must be filled)

Conference Visa:
  • Duly completed and signed application form
  • Original passport valid for at least 6 months
  • VISA fee
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Supporting documents such as invitation letter sent by organizing body, letters of clearance from The Nodal Ministry, The Ministry of Home Affairs, The Ministry of External affairs, and The State Government, letter from the organization in the participant’s country which nominated the applicant to attend the conference, proof of residential address and, copy of birth certificate.
The VISA application, along with the enclosures mentioned above, must be submitted directly to the Embassy/High commission of country/locality.

The organizing committee is working on the required supporting documents as mentioned above and will upload the letter of approvals from the respective ministry at the earliest (These letters will be soon uploaded on the conference website in a downloadable format) We need to obtain prior and specific approval for attendees who are from Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, foreigners of Pakistani origin and Stateless persons; Those residing in this category, please approach conference secretariat at the earliest, but before 31st January with the following information.
